..and I dream of going back to be

For the first time since I submitted my applications, I woke up on Monday morning and did not have time to obsess over my admissions. My dad broke his ankle yesterday and is to be on bed-rest for the next 5 weeks. My dad-in-law was also admitted to the hospital on a diabetic complication yesterday and is yet to be discharged. Adding to the hospital woes, my surgeon doesnt have a single free spot the whole week and is leaning towards pushing the surgery to next Friday. That gives me another 10 days to think thoughts Id rather not.

Poring over Yale's admitted students' website has been a wonderful distraction through this all. As a nice personal touch, the school has assigned an Alum to act as my guide and mentor. I have zillions decisions to make with respect to quitting, moving, financing etc...if I can only get this darned surgery scheduled..
